Japanese Tattoos

With the rising popularity of Japanese animation, Japanese tattoos have also become quite popular around the world in recent years. There are many different designs that are influenced by Japanese culture. Depending on your choice, these designs can range from very intricate, to very simple. Japanese animation is known for being much more complex and detailed than the animation used in many other countries. It is common for individuals who are interested in anime (also known as Japanese animation) to tattoo some of their favorite characters on themselves. If you have been considering tattooing a Japanese style tattoo on yourself, you may want to consider the following:

Anime

Some of the more popular types of Japanese tattoos around the world are anime tattoos. These tattoos are usually from their favorite movies or TV shows, and have been known to be very graphic. Some of the more popular shows with characters that people have tattooed on themselves include Dragonball Z, Final Fantasy (which is also a very successful video game franchise) and Pokemon. These people may also have professionals draw up anime style designs that are not from a television show, and have that tattooed on themselves.

Flowers

One popular style of Japanese tattoo that is very popular among women is the flower tattoo. These tattoos often take up large areas of the body, and are filled with different kinds of flowers and plant material. One of the more popular Japanese flower tattoos is to have a vine of lotus’ that run from one end of the back starting at the shoulder blade to the other, lower end of the back. This allows the individual to cover their entire back, but not expose any of the tattoo in the workplace if they wear short sleeves. Other flowers that are commonly tattooed on people include Hydrangeas, Cherry Blossoms, Daphne and Yellow Treasures. Sometimes the tattoo will consist of a mix of these different types of flowers that make for a tattoo bouquet.

Mythical Creatures

Mythical creatures also play a very important role in Japanese folklore. For this reason, many Japanese tattoos will include a number of the mythical creatures that are commonly referenced in old stories. These creatures include different types of dragons, fairies, and a number of different animals. A large number of these animals were portrayed to be nonviolent animals in legend, but when updated and tattooed, they are usually represented and depicted as violent beasts. This may be for the art of the tattoo, though.

There are many different options available to someone who would like to tattoo a Japanese tattoo design on themselves. Depending on what type of design that you are looking for and the size and intricacy of the design, there are many different places on the body that would be suitable for Japanese style tattoos. Some of the more common places people tend to tattoo Japanese style designs on themselves include the back, chest, and arms.
