The history behind the lion is long, and the lion is deeply involved in the history and mythology of many religions. While there may be many interpretations of what the lion symbolizes, the lion is hardly ever conveyed in a negative light, anywhere along the lines of history.

Much like the lions of Africa, the tigers of Asia are also a very highly regarded animal. In fact, in many religions the tiger and lion represent very similar ideals. Much like the lion, the tiger is also regarded as a King. Also much like its distant cousin, the tiger is also the top of the food chain in many reasons throughout Asia. The tiger is seen as a very cunning and intelligent animal, often portrayed as one step ahead of its enemies in various word of mouth stories that have been passed down through the generations.

There are many different reasons why someone may choose an animal tattoo design. Some of these reasons may have to do with what their animal of choice symbolizes, while others may just enjoy the look of the animal.
